DISNEYLAND AUSTRALIA THEME PARK

Nominated by Walt Disney Attractions, we were appointed by the Star Land Company, the Australian Government JV company, as the masterplanners and concept design architects for the proposed Disneyland Australia set within the $2.7 billion Star Land Project located on the Gold Coast Highway and rail-link between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in South-East Queensland

PLANET SONY - UK

Commissioned by the Scottish Government as a potential component within the Strathleven Gateway Strategy, we entered into a joint-venture with SONY UK for the design of the worlds first “Virtual Theme Park” incorporating digital product, characters, themes and technology developed by SONY. The “Theme Park In A Box” was designed to operate year round, world-wide, in all cultural and geographical locations.

RIVERCITY ENTERTAINMENT RESORT – SCOTLAND, UK

We were appointed by the Scottish Government as the Masterplanner, Architect and Team Leader for the development of this destination resort on the River Clyde north of Glasgow. As a former oil terminal and tank farm, the infrastructure design and traffic planning components were unusually complex due to issues of public access, hydrocarbon decontamination and significant deep water land reclamation.

PORT LIAMUIGA – ST. KITTS, WEST INDIES

As part of the National Tourism Development Strategy, undertaken by JPI TLC on behalf of the Government of St. Kitts & Nevis, Port Liamuiga was designed as the driver to reinvent the town centre of Bassetterre. Inclusive of Waterparks, Yacht Club, Residential, Retail & Entertainment as complimentary attractions to the world standard cruise liner terminal and its integration with the old capital town of the Federation.

“PERSIA” – THE WORLD ISLANDS – DUBAI, UAE

We were appointed as the masterplanner, architect and team leader for the design of this heavily themed residential development on the man-made World Islands, 3kms off the coast of Dubai, UAE. This high-end project comprises an apartment hotel, RD&E and marina facilities.

EL MONTE TRANSIT VILLAGE – CALIFORNIA, USA

The El Monte Transit Village, California, USA, comprehensive development plan incorporates 500,000 square feet of retail stores, dining and entertainment venues; 500,000 square feet of Class A office space; 1,850 residential units including condominiums and senior apartments; a regional education center; childcare center; 14 screen state-of-the-art cinema, 200 room hotel; a conference/exhibition center; and 8 acres of community parkland. This unique development combines all of the above in a very desirable, pedestrian-friendly urban experience with trails, waterways and ample open space right in the heart of greater Los Angeles. The first phase of the Transit Village is projected to open in 2012.

The Transit Oriented Development (TOD) approach to new development provides environmental benefits through reduced traffic generation, energy use, air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions as well as reduced capital outlays for accommodating future population growth.
